The Cochrane Library includes several different databases, the most recognized being the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR)- a collection of searchable full text systematic reviews which are now updated monthly. Reviews can be lengthy- 40-60-80 pages.

This powerful database contains citations to clinical and research articles in medicine, nursing, allied health, dental and veterinary medicine with abstracts and links to full text when available.

Look for the filter information top right of your result page.When you select your hospital filter or free full text filter, you should be able to view, print, or save the full article.

When viewing individual articles, look for your hospital logo which indicates full text is available.

DERP is a collaboration of public entities, the Center for Evidence-based Policy and the Oregon Evidence-based Practice Center, who have joined together to produce systematic, evidence-based reviews of the comparative effectiveness and safety of drugs in many widely used drug classes, and to apply the findings to inform public policy and related activities in local settings.

SUMSearch is a unique method of searching for medical evidence by using the Internet. SUMSearch combines meta-searching and contingency searching in order to automate searching for medical evidence.
After searching, SUMSearch organizes the list of links to documents that it returns to the clinician. The links are ordered by breadth of discussion. First, there are links to resources that provide broad discussion: relevant textbooks, followed by traditional review articles, and practice guidelines. Next there are links to resources that provide narrow discussions: systematic reviews, and original research. Thus, the clinician that is searching a topic with which they are not familiar, will find links to easy to read, broad discussions at the top of the list. A clinician that has a specific question within a topic with which they otherwise familiar, will find links to systematic reviews and original research in the second half of the results.
