Update: March 18, 2020

Southeastern is committed to supporting members during this difficult time. Due to concerns around the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19),  we have closed our office and suspended in-person events and meetings. Southeastern staff are working remotely, and our services remain operational. We are accessible via email and voicemail during normal business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30pm. 

All call for members: So that we can connect to talk about strategies for providing service during an extended break, and to check in to see how everyone is doing, we have scheduled an all member webinar for Tuesday, March 24, 10 am. Everyone is welcome.

Share your library/organization service status: We created an open spreadsheet for members to share the status of their organization’s operations during the COVID-19 challenge. The information you provide will help other Southeastern members. Access to the document is here: https://tinyurl.com/sy9tkfo

Professional development:  SENYCon, scheduled for April 3, 2020, will be online this year. Some of the details will change over the next few weeks. In the meantime,  you can register for the event here: https://www.senylrc.org/SenyCon. We are working with members to create un-regularly scheduled and informal virtual Special Interest Group meetings so that we can keep in touch with our networks. We will update you with times and dates for these and other programs to be held online as we schedule them.

Emergency Preparedness LibGuide

Southeastern has compiled this list of resources to help its members and their patrons learn about and prepare for the impact of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in their communities. This is a rapidly developing situation, so please re-check the websites regularly for updated information.

Please keep an eye on this space, we will update you with any information about closings or cancelations should they have to occur.

Big News in Digital Collections!

HRVH has migrated to New York Heritage!

We are pleased to announce that Southeastern members’ digital collections are now discoverable through New York Heritage. Cross search our region’s collections with collections from across the state and learn more about the rich history of the Hudson River Valley. New York Heritage is a collaborative project of the Empire State Library Network, of which Southeastern is a member.

Hundreds of cultural organizations have contributed collections to New York Heritage resulting in over a quarter of a million historical resources. Those resources are as diverse as the organizations that participate. Visitors can learn about a countless number of topics and explore a wide variety of original formats.

To find resources, you can keyword search across all of the digital resources from the home page. You can also explore via contributing organization or digital collection. Once in the digital collections, there are options for filtering a set of results by subject, format, or location.

2020 Census
